Power. Everybody wants power – and lots of it. Whether it’s more horsepower, better, faster, more powerpowerful electronics, or a higher position of authority people seem to be driven by some deep compulsion to attain a higher level of power than those around them. Some want to attain power for evil ends; people such as Hitler, Osama Bin Laden, and Stalin are poster boys for the use of power for evil. Others want power for the purpose of helping others. Names like Chuck Swindoll, Billy Graham, and Mother Theresa are synonymous with people who have used their power and authority to influence others for good. wont cantWe hear it all of the time, the same sad, old refrain that has echoed throughout the ages I Can’t. Sometimes it means “I don’t want to” or “I won’t”, but in other instances it truly means just what it says: I can’t. I’m not physically, mentally, financially, or any other -ly able to do what we need or want to do. God’s song of hope, on the other hand, is  just the opposite; I can and I will. Click on the arrow below to listen to Sunday’s message by Pastor Marlan and learn how you can tap into God’s power and exchange your “I can’t” for God’s victorious “I can”.

When Molehills Become Mountains

Have you noticed that small things don’t often remain small, but rather they grow into something that can wind up being quite large? A tiny baby grows into a big person. A spark becomes a flame becomes a conflagration. A space satellite was lost for want of a dot in the computer sequence. A bridge fails because of one faulty bolt situated in a key spot. Something that seems insignificant grows to monumental proportions and has an impact that is far beyond what its size would indicate. Click on the arrow below to listen to Pastor Marlan’s message discussing how the smallest things can morph into something bigger than you could imagine.

Remember Lest We Forget

Memorial Day is not just a day for picnics or camping, or getting a day off of work, rather it is a day to remember all of the brave men and women who have given their lives for our nation and our freedom. We need to take time to consciously, purposefully remember lest we forget their sacrifice and take it for granted. We also need to take time to remember the greatest sacrifice ever made for us by the one who died in our place. Click on the arrow below to listen to Sunday’s message.

Here is this week’s bulletin in case you missed it.
