If you are in the Anchorage area please join us for our Thanksgiving service Wednesday, November 22nd at 7 PM. We will have a dessert fellowship following the service, and the youth are doing a pie auction to raise money for missions.
JCC celebrated all the men of JCC from the youngest to the oldest during Sunday’s Fathers’ Day service. Have you noticed how quickly your morning cup of coffee or tea grows cold after it has been poured out of the pot? Even a whistle screaming hot tea kettle will not remain hot very long once removed from the heat source. It is the same with our lives. Once we have removed ourselves from our source of power our hearts begin to cool. No matter how screaming hot and on fire for God our hearts are if we do not remain in constant contact with our source we will become cold. Pastor Mike in Sunday’s message urges us to check our spiritual temperature and make sure our hearts stay connected to God. Click on the arrow to listen to this week’s message.
One of the navigational tools used by pilots is a compass. However, this compass is not perfect and must be reset by using a magnetic compass to make sure their heading is true so they can get to their proper destination. We also need to make sure our spiritual compass is set properly as well so that we make it to our final destination.
