Family Night

Families are important to God and to JCC. One of the first things God did was create a family when He created the world all those many ages ago. We want to help you help your family grow spiritually. One way we do that is to hold a family night once a month with dinner and bonding time with your family. If you live in the Anchorage area feel free to join us at 6:30 PM for dinner at 43354 Laurel Street Anchorage AK. If you have any questions you may contact us at 907-349-0255 or office@akjoy.com

Fall Line-up

Fall is here – at least in Alaska. The leaves are turning color and the wind is turning downright chilly. We had a fantastic summer of camping and VBS and other fun activities. September is upon us, and our fall line-up is getting ready to start up. For the Kids there is our new JOY KIDS Club Wednesday nights at 7 PM starting September 12th. The Kids will learn life skills and Bible skills and earn badges. Once a month we will have a family night where families gather to eat dinner together and work on badges and just generally have a grand old time. The first one will be September 5th at 6:30 PM. For adults there is the adult Bible study Wednesdays at 7 PM. We’ll be working our way through Streams Ministries’ Hearing God’s Voice series. Men’s and Women’s groups get started September 21st at 6:30 PM.

You don’t have to be a member of JCC to be a part of these activities; everyone is welcome to attend. If you are in the Anchorage area we invite you to come join us. You can find more information on our webpage akjoy.com and the sign up for the Kids Club can be found at akjoy.com/events  We hope to see you around!

Ready, Set, Let’s Bash!

There’s a funny meme out there circulating on Facebook. It says something to the effect of Is it just me or did June and July last like 5 minutes. Yep. Pretty much. We were just looking forward to summer fun and now it’s time to look toward school starting again. Sunday, August 12th – that’s this coming Sunday morning – JCC will host its annual Back to School Bash. If you live in the Anchorage area come join us at 10:30 AM on the 12th. Space is limited to 30 kids, so sign up soon because the slots will fill up fast. We are located at 4335 Laurel Street, Anchorage, AK. You can sign up at akjoy.com/events

Game On!

If you live in the Anchorage area and are age 4 years through 6th grade – or you have kids or grandkids that are – it’s time to get your game on. Joy Christian Center is offering a mega sports camp day camp for the kiddos. The daycamp runs from July 9-13 9 AM to 3 PM each day. A snack and lunch are provided. The kids will have a blast doing crafts, playing sport games, singing songs, building character, and learning more about Jesus. Sign up at akjoy.com/events. Call 349-0255 for more information.

One Month to Live

We are beginning a new adult Bible study series tonight, April 4th. It is a 6 week class. It’s a wonderful series that can be a life changer. The class is about an hour long from 7-8 PM and will run each Wednesday PM ending May 9th. It is a DVD series and we will watch the video and discuss what we’ve learned. There is a book to go with the series that has a brief daily reading to help internalize the lessons. If you live in the Anchorage area we would love to have you join us.

A New Adventure

We will be having a farewell lunch for Pastor Marlan and Pastor Ruth Sunday, March 25th following the morning service. More details will follow. There is no weekly sermon this week; it did not record properly; we apologize. You can, however, read this month’s newsletter on the Publications page.

You Are a Treasure to God

Joy Christian Center would like to invite those of you who are in the Anchorage area to join us for our annual Valentine’s get together. The Theme this year is Treasure Island:  You are a Treasure to God. This is not a couples only event, and you don’t have to attend JCC to come have fun with us. There will be good food, live music provided by our Samoan friends, prizes, and games. Join us Sunday, February 11th at 5:30 PM at 4335 Laurel Street. If you have questions you can call 907-301-4803 for more information.
