Suppose that you are sitting in church on a regular Sunday morning waiting for the service to begin. At the end of your row is Wilbur who has been in a wheel chair his whole life. Out of the corner of your eye you see another guy lean over and shake Wilbur’s hand, speaking briefly to him. Suddenly Wilbur is whooping and hollering and waving his arms around in the air as he does a Jericho run around the perimeter of the sanctuary. After everyone picks their jaws up off the ground bedlam ensues. Now why do you think such a thing would cause such a stir among Christian folks? After all, Jesus told us to expect miracles, signs, and wonders, right? Lord, grant us expectant faith to pray bold prayers until the miraculous becomes as natural to us as breathing. Not so common place and ordinary that we become indifferent to God’s wonders, but natural – an expected part of our Christian experience.
