Cleaning is probably not on most people’s bucket list. It’s more likely to rank right up there with visits to the dentist – no offence intended to all of you dentists out there. Nonetheless, nine willing victims cheerfully rolled up their sleeves and tackled winter’s debris left around the church building today. As a result the windows now sparkle, shelving is orderly, all of the cobwebs are gone from the corners, the bathrooms got a deep clean as did the kitchen and sanctuary, and a lot of the junk is now on its way to its final resting place. Many thanks to Joyce, Rosa, Carl, Chris, Tammy, Ronni, Ruth, Marlan, and Heidi for their work today. And special thanks to the two little workers who came along with Carl and Tammy to help out. Kudos to Carl and Tammy for providing lunch for the team. If you missed the work day, never fear; there will be more to come. And if you have a couple hours free once a month sign up for the clean team – they could use some extra hands.
Every little bit helps… we’ve all heard that saying. When it comes to financial matters it’s true; all of those pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters add up after time and make the bank account grow. Fred Meyer has created a painless way for people to add some change to the offering plate without ever taking out their wallet during offering time. Sign up for a Fred Meyer Rewards card and link your card to Joy Christian Center. Then each time you shop Freddy’s donates a small percentage to JCC. You may think it’s not worth the effort, but if everyone participates, those small percentages add up in a hurry. JCC encourages everyone to practice the Biblical principle of tithing and giving offerings, and this is one easy way to make a difference one purchase at a time. Click on the link below to read the information on how to be a part of this program, and thank you!

It’s that time again. The days are longer, and the sun is brighter and warmer. The trees are budding, the flowers are getting ready to blossom, and the snow it melting. And all the stuff that was buried under the snow is emerging, all the dirty windows that were conveniently hidden by the darkness are being exposed, and all the junk that got stuffed into the basement or behind the curtain is now spilling over. So! Let’s grab some gloves, squeegees, buckets, trash bags and paint brushes and get busy spiffing up the JCC church building. Let’s get rid of the clutter, freshen up the paint, and make those windows sparkle. Please join us Saturday, April 26th at 9:30 AM to do battle with the residue of this past winter. Lunch will be provided, so come on out for a couple of hours and we’ll get the job done and have lunch together.
